Greg studied chemistry, physics and maths at Harvard, graduating in 2001. He earned a PhD in physics from Stanford in 2004, the same year Tagged launched. He led Tagged as CEO.

The people who started Tagged
Tagged began in San Francisco in October 2004. Two long-time friends and business partners, Greg Tseng and Johann Schleier-Smith, founded it together.

They'd already built companies together before Tagged. In 2004, BusinessWeek named them both among tech's best young entrepreneurs.
Johann Schleier-Smith
Co-founder and former CTO
Johann led the technology behind Tagged as co-founder and CTO. He and Greg first worked together at Harvard, where they co-founded Jumpstart Technologies, and they share a US patent for user-created tags on social networks.

First investment
Tagged raises $1.5 million from angel investors, then $7 million from Mayfield Fund.
- 2008
Pets arrives
Pets launches as Tagged's first game. Members still play it today.
- 2011
100 million members
Tagged passes 100 million registered users and brings hi5 into the family.
- 2014
A new parent name
The company behind Tagged renames itself If(we).
- 2017
Joins The Meet Group
Tagged becomes part of The Meet Group, alongside apps like MeetMe and Skout.
